Dryden and Bethie's spring program
Dryden really hammed it up, and of course he was adorable. Bethie sat on the stage the whole time!

The Easter Bunny comes to Spokane
Easter was an exciting day for the Enzler household. It started with church, and an Easter Egg hunt in Sunday School! When we got home, the Easter Bunny had come to our house! He left Easter eggs filled with candy all over the front yard (the back yard is mud right now from the melting snow, it probably got his fur all dirty). He also hid the eggs we had dyed the night before in rainbow colors. After a nap from all that excitement, we went over to Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Hal's house and had yet another Easter Egg hunt! The Easter Bunny had also filled our baskets there.
After all that sugar, the kids had some really great fits on the downward slope of the sugar high. It was nice to put them to sleep after all of that excitement!
Dryden dresses himself
I went into Dryden's room during naptime one day, and he was still wide awake. And in a completely different outfit right down to the underwear than the one I had left him in. I checked to make sure he hadn't had an accident, and then asked him why he was in a new outfit, which consisted of a greeen soccer shirt, blue sweatshirt and blue pants (ALMOST matching). He told me the outfit I had on (which WAS matching) was itchy. Later, when we went to pick up Daddy from work, he added a few finishing touches: A blue winter hat, and blue Nemo glasses. He's getting to be such a big boy!

Bethie and Dryden do swimming at the Y
Bethie and Dryden are in swimming lessons this spring. Dryden has been doing swim lessons since he was about ten months old. As we know, Dryden decided he did not want to swim ever again after taking lessons at Comstock. This year he had no problems, even getting in the cold pool and swimming with his coach. Bethie took right to the water. Her swim coach commented that she looked like she has had lessons before. Another water baby, just like mom!

The family room is done!
After may discussions, the family room is carpeted, the furniture is moved in (minus one very important desk...as I sit here on the floor and type this). We'll be installing the lighting very soon, and the kid's toys are moved out of what will be Bethie's room. (No more co-sleeping). The nine hundred square feet on the first floor look like about 1000 without all of the furniture, so that's a plus. The minus is trying to figure out how to make it warm enough downstairs to make the kids WANT to play down here. More on this later.
Dryden is a big boy!
For the first time, Dryden decided to poop in the potty! (I will save you the pictures of this momentous occasion!) Potty training has been a rough road for Dryden. He was well (very well) into his third year before he even started to potty in the potty. Although we have not revisited the pooping in the potty (as of yet), we are bound and determined that he will be potty trained and in underwear by his fourth birthday...or shortly thereafter. Well, by kindergarten. Or maybe first or second grade. But no later than that.
Bethie takes a few steps!
Although she's not going to beat the walking record of her big brother (ten months, not that anyone is bragging), Bethie may be walking in time for her first birthday. Her longest jaunt so far has been five steps, but she's getting much more adventerous! She has started practicing without mommy and daddy coaching her. We'll just watch and wait.
Dryden starts a new school and soccer!
The third week in January was a busy week for Dryden. He started a new school and soccer practice!
Dryden loves his new school. His teacher, Miss Niki, is very nice. So nice in fact, he has decided to marry her! (Marriage has been the topic for the past couple of weeks at our church). The school, Cornerstone Christian, is affiliated with our church, and Dryden loves the familiar environment of "church school". He is doing MUCH better here than at his old school. Even at home we have seen a marked difference in his listening and behavior.

Dryden and Grandma Carolyn
What a life (or we're hot in these long sleeves!)While Spokane was still enjoying the record snow fall, we were in Santa Barbara living it up! We stayed with Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Robert in Montecito, near Santa Barbara. It was a beautiful house with a short walk to the beach.

Handing presents to Uncle AndyWe were lucky enough to get TWO Christmas's this year! One was at Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Hal's house here in Spokane. We opened presents around the tree.
Our second was in Santa Barbara, California. We took a jet airplane to Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Robert's house there. We opened presents around the rosemary tree that Bethie kept eating!
It snowed and snowed and snowed in Spokane!!
